Whether you’re looking for a fresh outdoor industry non-profit to partner with or you want to see what I’m capable of, hikingmyfeelings.org is where to go. This organization is my living, breathing portfolio of all the skills I’ve acquired over my lifetime – branding, event management, web design, copywriting, video production, photography, fundraising, strategy, and brand activations.
Prior to starting Hiking My Feelings, most of my career was in corporate communications, starting at the largest global PR/marketing firm (Weber Shandwick) as the digital voice of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, SNICKERS, DiGiorno Pizza, and various Unilever brands. After Weber, I moved to Austin to join the team at W2O Group as a data analyst. I spent four years as a sponsored competitive skydiver while running marketing, events, and public relations at one of the most prestigious skydiving training facilities in the world. In 2015 I returned to W2O Group to lead brand accounts like NBC Universal, Comcast, the Gordon + Betty Moore Foundation, and several others. In 2017, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and started making significant changes to my lifestyle – including hiking + backpacking – which ultimately led me to leave my six-figure salary, platinum health benefits, and unlimited vacation to join a friend’s startup as Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder, only to leave that organization as well to start Hiking My Feelings.
In 2019, we created a national wilderness wellness tour, hosting 64 storytelling events and 69 hikes around the US to encourage folks to get off the couch and onto the trail. Whether you’re looking for big-picture thinking or someone in the trenches to handle details, I have worked on the agency side, creative side, in data analytics, and on client-side, so I’m pretty much the perfect storm if you need a chameleon who can jump right in and get to work. Let’s collaborate!
